This Family Entirely Recreated ‘Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure’ While Stuck At Home and It’s Amazing

As lockdown rolled on, a young Texan boy named Roosevelt had an idea: he wanted to recreate one of his favorite films, “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure.” With the help of his family, the Wrens, Roosevelt did just that, and the remake is absolutely amazing!

“Roosevelt’s Big Adventure”: One family’s retelling of the cult Pee-Wee classic

Many fans of “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure” were disappointed when the star of the movie, Paul Reubens, cancelled his summer tour to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the movie. But lucky for us, the Wren family remade the movie with things they had around their house, including some pretty awesome backdrops.

In fact, they recreated the whole movie. They re-did every scene, from Pee-Wee enjoying Mr. Breakfast with Mr. T cereal, to Pee-Wee’s big hitch-hiking adventure as he searches for his missing bike. Roosevelt has even nailed Pee-Wee’s unforgettable laugh.

In total, the YouTube video clocks in at 49 minutes, and it’s a joy to watch every step of the way.

Even Pee-Wee himself has given his approval of the remake. The official Pee-Wee Herman Twitter account tweeted:

A kid named Roosevelt wanted to re-create Pee-wee’s Big Adventure — the ENTIRE MOVIE!!! So he did… with his family… while quarantined!! Introducing… Roosevelt’s Big Adventure!

Fans everywhere are getting a kick out of Roosevelt’s remake. At the time of this writing, the YouTube video has already had more than 16,000 views. On Facebook, people are sharing how much they loved it too. One woman commented:

OMG I just watched the whole movie and absolutely LOVED IT!!! My cheeks and face hurt from smiling and laughing!!! It’s adorable how the entire family got involved and re-created the movie.

“Roosevelt’s Big Adventure” is amazing, and it all started with a little boy who decided to get creative during lockdown.
