Aw, the good old days of Toys R Us and their epic car seat trade-in events… I miss them but I know Target has got our backs. Target’s Car Seat Trade-In Event Is Back and Here’s What You Need to Know…

Target’s Car Seat Trade-In Event Is Back, Here’s What You Need to Know

Target’s Car Seat Trade-In Event starts April 22, 2019 and runs through May 4, 2019.

During this event you can trade-in any expired, outdated, or snot covered car seat to Target where they will recycle your car seat instead of having it end up in the landfill.

What do you get in return?

According to the Target website:

“Guests who trade in their old car seats will receive a 20 percent off coupon toward a new car seat, car seat base, travel system, stroller or select baby home gear, such as playards, high chairs, swings, rockers and bouncers.”

As you know, baby items can be quite expensive so 20% off is a great deal. Keep in mind, Target allows you to stack coupons so if you happen to find one of the eligible items on sale or find a Cartwheel coupon, you can apply this coupon on top of that.

What type of car seats does Target accept?

Target will accept and recycle all types of car seats, including infant seats, convertible seats, car seat bases, harness or booster car seats and car seats that are expired or damaged. Materials from the old car seats will be recycled by Target’s partner, Waste Management.

Target introduced its first car seat trade-in program in April 2016 and has hosted this event yearly since.

Since the program launched, Target has recycled half a million car seats, and counting.

To date, through trade-in programs, Target has recycled more than 7.4 million pounds of materials, and counting.

That is a lot of car seats!

This is an awesome event so make sure you mark your calendars and don’t miss it!
