Maths Riddles for Kids

If not, then try solving maths riddles for kids with your little ones. Maths riddles do not just help in developing problem-solving skills, but also make them think of maths in a more creative way.

Here is a list of engaging maths riddles for kids that will put their brains to the test and also improve their learning abilities. So here you go- make maths your kids’ favorite subject by helping them relate maths to the actual world, thus developing their reasoning skills.

1. How much soil is there in a hole that measures two meters by three meters by four meters??

Ans: There is no soil in a hole.

2. What has one head, one foot, and four legs?

Ans: bed.

3. I am a number, but when you add the letter G to me, I go away. What number am I?

Ans: Add G, and it becomes GONE.

4. How many bricks does it take to complete a building made from bricks?

Ans: One, the last one.

4. How many seconds are there in a year?

Ans: Twelve- January 2nd February 2nd March 2nd.

5. How can you make seven even?

Ans: Take away the ‘S.’

6. How far can a fox run into a wood?

Ans: Only halfway – then he’s running out of it.

7. A man is washing windows on the 25th floor of an apartment building. Suddenly, he slips and falls. He has nothing to cushion his fall and no safety equipment- but he doesn’t get hurt. How is this possible?

Ans: He’s washing windows inside the building.

8. A man was driving a van. His headlights weren’t on, and the moon wasn’t out. Ahead of him, a woman dressed in all black started crossing the road. Fortunately, the man braked so she could cross. How did he see her?

Ans: It was the middle of the day.

9. How many sides are there to a circle?

Ans: Two. The inside and the outside.

10. Add the number to the number itself and then multiply by 4. Again divide the number by 8, and you will get the same number once more. Which is that number?

Ans: Any Number.

11. Ram was asked to paint the number of plates on 100 apartments, which means he will have to paint numbers 1 through 100. Can you figure out the number of times he will have to paint the number 8?

Ans: 20 times. (8, 18, 28, 38, 48, 58, 68, 78, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 98)

12. If you buy a rooster to lay eggs and expect to get three eggs each day for breakfast, how many eggs will you have after three weeks?

Ans: Zero, roosters do not lay eggs

13. Raj has two books. One of the books is faced upside-down, and the second book is rotated, which makes the top of the book meet Raj. Then what will be the total sum of the 1st pages in each of these books?

Answer: Irrespective of how the books are oriented, the first page of every book is page number 1, thus 1+1 = 2.

14. A mobile phone and its case cost Rs. 110 in total. The price of the mobile phone is Rs.100 more than its case. What is the price of the mobile phone?

Ans: Rs.105 (not Rs.110)

15. If you multiply this number by any other number, the answer will always be the same. What number is this?

Ans: Zero

16. I add five to nine and get two. The answer is correct, but how?

Ans: When it is 9 AM, add 5 hours to it, and you will get 2 PM.

17. A grandfather, two fathers, and two sons went to the movie theater together, and everyone bought one movie ticket each. How many tickets did they buy in total?

Ans: 3 (the grandfather is also a father and the father is also a son)

18. If it took six people 9 hours to build a barn, how long would it take 12 people to make the same barn?

Ans: None, the barn is already made!

19. Using only addition, how can you add eight 8’s to get the number 1,000?

Ans: 888 +88 +8 +8 +8 =1,000

20. How can you take two from 5 and leave 4?

Ans: F I V E (Remove the two letters F and E from five, and you have IV).

21. I am a three-digit number. My second digit is four times bigger than the third digit. My first digit is three less than my second digit. Who am I?

Ans: 141.

22. How many times can you subtract the number 5 from 25?

Ans: Only once because after you subtract, it is not going to be 25 anymore.

23. If there are four apples and you take away three, how many do you have?

Ans: You took three apples, so obviously, you will have three.

24. There are six black socks, eight brown socks, four blue socks, and two red socks in my sock drawer. Can you figure out the minimum number of socks to be pulled out to get a matching pair for sure?

Ans: At least 5.

25. I have a pound of feathers and a pound of iron? Can you please tell me which one weighs more?

Ans: Both remain the same weight as Pound is Pound irrespective of the object.

26. The ages of a father and son add up to 66. The father’s age is the son’s age reversed. How old could they be?

Ans: There are three possible solutions for this, the father-son duo could be 51 and 15 years old, 42 and 24 years old, or 60 and 06 years old.
