As a kid, I loved a good summer reading challenge. While I loved books anyway, it encouraged me to devour even more books so I could win all the prizes along the way.
This summer, Pizza Hut is encouraging kids and a love of reading with their new Camp BOOK IT program and the prize is one kids are sure to love: free pizza!
How to sign up for Pizza Hut’s Summer Reading program
All kids heading into Kindergarten through sixth grade (or ages 4-12) are eligible for Pizza Hut’s new summer reading program.
The program goes all summer long, and kids can earn free pizzas EACH MONTH simply by tracking their reading. Yup, you read that right. Kids can earn up to three pizzas this summer. But that’s not the only draw to this fun summer reading challenge.
Pizza Hut’s Camp BOOK IT also features some super fun activities related to books along the way. They also provide book recommendations so there’s always something on your kiddo’s to-be-read list.
All sorts of reading material are fair game for this summer reading challenge too. Parents can keep track of what their kids are reading — whether it be magazines, books, or eBooks — through the digital dashboard.
The goal, according to Camp BOOK IT, is to encourage kids to read for an average of 20 minutes a day at least five days a week. Once the kids meet their monthly goal, they’ll receive a badge as well as a certificate for a Pizza Hut Personal Pan pizza. Easy peasy and so much fun. This is a great way to motivate young readers. After all, who doesn’t love pizza?!
The BOOK IT reading program and challenge also happens during the school year, but this is the first time ever that Pizza Hut is offering the reading challenge during the summer.
Parents can go here to sign up their kids (up to five kid) for the Pizza Hut reading challenge.
