They are easily digestible and protein rich. Moong dal has the highest protein content than the other dal varieties. The combination of carrots and dal makes this recipe highly nutritious and yummy as well. Ghee adds extra nutrition to the recipe. Ghee is good for weight gain and it can be added in baby foods after 6 months.
Ingredients:
- Carrot – 2tbsp
- Moongdal – 2tbsp
- Turmeric powder – a pinch
- Jeera powder – 1/4tsp
- Pepper powder – 1/4tsp
- Ghee – 1tsp
Method:
1. Wash and soak moongdal for half an hour.
2. Melt ghee in a pan.
3. Add moongdal, carrot and saute.
4. Add turmeric powder.
5. Add 1 cup of water.
6. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
7. Add pepper and jeera for seasoning.
8. Mash and serve warm.
This recipe is packed with immunity boosting and disease fighting nutrients. Spices can be gradually be added in baby’s diet after 6 months itself. The spices included in this recipe has warming and healing properties. So it’s best to be given during cold and cough as well. Carrot Moongdal Soup for Babies recipe is suitable for babies above 6 months. Carrot and moong dal has to be introduced individually before introducing this recipe. Salt is not to be added in baby food till baby completes 1 year .And hence salt can be added if making the recipe for babies above 1 year.
