Aw, man I was really hoping for an early Spring. I mean, we are seriously lacking in snow this year anyways in Utah.

But today is Groundhog Dog and Punxsutawney Phil Saw His Shadow, Predicting 6 More Weeks of Winter!

Phil was awakened at 7:25 a.m. and made his prediction in front of about 16 members of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club at Gobbler’s Knob.

“Now, when I turn to see, there’s a perfect shadow cast of me. Six more weeks of winter there will be,” one of Phil’s handlers announced on his behalf at the ceremony.

The celebration happens every year and is over a century old but this year, things looked a little different.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there were no crowds in attendance or guests present. There was even temperature checks among handlers.

This year was streamed live for the world to see and it was so fun to see Phil’s prediction this year.

I am not entirely happy of the outcome because I want warmer weather but it is fun nonetheless!
