Being diagnosed with cancer is terrifying.

For most people, surrounding yourself with friends and family is the best way to cope with the pain and fear and heartache that comes with hearing you’ve got the Big C.

Some aren’t able to, though.

Patients need love & support when going through a difficult time.

For those who have relatives in the military, sometimes the best that can be done are phone calls and video chats.

And that’s exactly what this mom thought she was getting with her Marine son, only, he wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of being there for his mama.

This is the heart-warming moment a marine dressed as a doctor surprises his mom who he hasn’t seen for two years during a chemotherapy appointment. 

Mary Glasure was at the Tony Teramana Cancer Center in Steubenville, Ohio, to plan her treatment for the disease which affects her left breast, spine and left lung among other places. 

Surrounded by family members, it appears that Mary is talking to a doctor about her prognosis when the footage starts.
