“Close Up That Computer Cause It’s a Snow, Snow, Snow Day,” Superintendent Sings to District

By: Grown and Flown

As online learning became the way for so many school districts this year, parents and students wondered if there would ever be a real snow day again. Would parents ever again tip toe into their children’s and teen’s rooms and tell them to roll over, go back to sleep that school virtual or real had been cancelled? Would kids be able to spend a weekday playing in the snow instead of watching teachers on Zoom now that being in-person has almost no bearing on being in school?

The answer, according to Dr. Rydell Harrison, Superintendent of Easton-Redding-Region 9 Schools, is an emphatic yes. For the first snow day of the year he urges students to grab their jackets, put on their boots and enjoy a day outside and away from Zoom. There would be no class at school or online.

In Dr. Harrison’s version of “Can’t Stop the Feeling” by Justin Timberlake he tells his students, “Close up that computer cause it’s a snow, snow, snow day. We will not be Zooming cause it’s a snow, snow day,” Harrison continues. “I can’t stop the feeling! It’s our first snow day.” He assures them that they know what to do-grab their coats and get out there in the snow.

Dr. Harrison finishes off his video with a three part harmony with none other than himself. Well-done Dr. Harrison, well-done. And we here at Grown and Flown are really happy it’s a snow day also.
