The holidays are the perfect time to try fun dishes, like this easy, 6-ingredient Snickers dessert salad recipe, made from candy bars and apples!
What Is Snickers Salad Made Of?
This is one of my favorite recipes to make after Halloween, using up those Snickers bars! But this dessert idea is great for any time of the year.
With simple pantry ingredients, and very minimal preparation, you will have a dessert that disappears quickly!
Snickers Salad Ingredients:
- 1 small box (3.4 oz) butterscotch pudding ** see notes
- ½ cup milk
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
- 4 large green apples, Granny Smith is best, chopped
- 5 full size Snickers candy bars, 4 for salad + 1 for garnishing
- Homemade or store bought caramel, optional
How Do You Make Snickers and Apple Salad?
This recipe is the easiest! Aside from cutting the candy bars (which can be a little difficult, and is definitely an adult job) this recipe is very kid-friendly, with simple ingredient combining and stirring.
Kids will live their best life when they see that green apples and snickers = a salad recipe!
In a medium bowl, whisk together the pudding and milk, until smooth.
Place in refrigerator to set, about 10 minutes.
While pudding is chilling, cut apples.
Remove pudding from refrigerator and fold in whipped topping.
Chop candy bars.
Fold apple and candy bars into mixture until well combined.
Cover and chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
How Long Is Snickers Salad Good For?
Store any leftovers in airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
What If I Don’t Like Snickers Bars?
You can swap the Snickers bars out for any candy bar of your preference!
Is Snickers Salad Gluten Free?
Yes! Snickers bars are gluten free (woohoo!). Just be cautious about the caramel sauce that you use, and read all labels on all other processed ingredients, to be sure.
Vegan Snickers Salad
The original recipe is already vegetarian, but if you are looking for a vegan option, traditional Snickers bars are not vegan, unfortunately.
The good news is that it’s really easy to make DIY vegan Snickers bars with an Internet search, Medjool dates, unsalted peanuts, peanut butter, plant based milk, vanilla extract, Enjoy Life dairy free (and vegan) chocolate chips, and coconut oil!
You can also swap out Snickers bars for store-bought vegan candy bars, or vegan candy, like Unreal brand peanut butter cups–the dark chocolate peanut butter cups are amazeballs!
Then, just make your own vegan caramel sauce, buy vanilla almond milk pudding, and dairy-free whipped topping.
Yield: Serves 10-12
