The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is Making Its Way to New York City. Here’s Everything We Know.

By: Shannon Carino

Every year, the lighting of the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center is one of the events that signal, “Bring on the holidays!” And this year, more than ever, we all need that feeling again.

The beautiful tree is about to make its way to New York City for the official 2020 ceremony.

This year, the infamous tree is a 75-foot tall, 45-foot diameter, 11-ton Norway Spruce, located in Oneonta, New York.

Donated by Daddy Al’s General Store in Oneonta, the spruce will be cut down tomorrow morning, November 12. It will then loaded by crane onto a 115 foot flatbed trailer to make its way into Manhattan.

After the tree arrives in the city, it will be erected at Rockefeller Center on Saturday, November 14. The official lighting is projected to be on December 2nd.
