No matter how old they are, teaching kids about the easiest, quickest, and safest ways to leave a burning building is essential. This is also a great time to talk about secondary routes of getting out of a burning building and teaching window safety at the same time.

This year during National Fire Prevention Week, encourage your kids to write out their plan and then draw a map of it to reinforce their best course of action.

This printable comes in both a pre-colored and a ready-to-color black and white version. Both are perfect for use in the classroom or at home. Learning about school safety is just as important as learning how to be safe at home during a fire.

Add them to your fire prevention week lesson plans to make sure your kids know where to go should a fire break out.

The lined top portion is perfect for older kids who want to write out their steps to escape. The bottom portion of the page can be used by preschoolers, as well as elementary students to draw their route.
