If you or someone you know enjoys collecting Barbie’s you should know that Mattel Released A ‘Day of the Dead’ Barbie!

Mattel announced that on September 12, 2019, they will be releasing a “Barbie Día de Muertos” that features Barbie wearing a stunning, floor-length black dress embroidered with flowers, skulls, and butterflies in colorful patterns. It was released and almost immediately sold out but you can now get it from Walmart here.

Barbie’s face is decorated as a skull, or calavera, created with face paint, which represents the dead.

This Barbie is created to celebrate the Mexican holiday known as ‘Day of The Dead’ in which friends and family honor late loved ones. The holiday runs from October 31 to November 2.

Families gather to enjoy food and prayer together, and often visit cemeteries to decorate the graves of their loved ones with ofrendas, or altars. Yes, much like you see in the movie Coco.

This limited edition collectible Barbie will be $75 and available at Walmart. Walmart has since restocked it and you can buy it here.
