Crayola Released Coloring Products With Different Skin Tone Shades So Every Child Can Color Themselves Accurately

NEW multicultural skin tone Crayola markers and colored pencils!

It seems like just the other day that we reported the release of Crayola skin color crayons.

But, they knew that was not enough! Crayons are only one part of our
art-senal. Crayola took the next leap in representation of all children.

We already absolutely love their Multicultural Crayons. They were a huge step in making coloring more inclusive. I cannot tell you the number of times my kids have tried to draw their friends and been limited in their options. So, this was a fantastic way to make representation easy.

Now, they have added 8 skin tones for their multicultural colored pencils and ten skin tones of multicultural washable markers to their lineup!

These new additions to the world of crafting supplies will make a huge difference for so many kids.

From personal drawings to coloring pages, everything they make will be more detailed, more real. The ability to represent the diversity is a magical thing. It can make a child look at a drawing and notice “Hey! That looks like me!” for the first time.

“With the world growing more diverse than ever before, Crayola hopes our new Colors of the World crayons will increase representation and foster a greater sense of belonging and acceptance,” “We want the new Colors of the World crayons to advance inclusion within creativity and impact how kids express themselves.”

Crayola Skin Tone Products – For Teachers!

My little sister recently started her career as a teacher! This fall will be her very first time having a classroom all her own!

Already, she wanted to make sure her diverse student population felt welcome. Last week, she messaged me talking about how she is going to order some Multicultural Construction Paper Cut Outs. On the first day of school, she will let her students draw themselves in their favorite outfit.

For a brief while, I considered ordering her the Crayola Skin Tone Colored Pencil Classroom Pack. But – her students are going to be just a little too young, for that. They are also a little too old for the Large Multicultural Crayons.

I decided that I would order her a Classroom Pack of Multicultural Crayola Crayons. Each pack comes with 24 packages of the multicultural crayons. I think two packs will be enough for all of her students to get the chance to make their cutout a little more personal!

For my kids’ art teacher, I also wanted to share the opportunity to include diversity. So, I ordered her a couple of classroom packs of each – the markers, the crayons, the colored pencils. Decided to throw in a couple packages of the Multicultural Construction Paper, for good measure.

That’s when I stumbled upon the Crayola Skin Tone Washable Paints! Had to order Ms. Jensen some of those, too, of course!

I really just can’t contain my excitement over this. It is truly a way to ensure that every child can feel included, no matter the color of their skin. Crayola’s Multicultural Crayons, Markers, and Colored pencils are paving the way to make inclusion and diversity a part of every day.
