White glue, apple printable on white cardstock and red, green, and brown tissue paper.
Most likely, you have everything you need for this paper craft at home.

Here’s what you need to make this tissue paper craft:

Apple printable on white cardstock with a boy's hand placing a ball of brown tissue paper on the apple's stem. Glue bottle sitting on the left side of the frame.
Print the apple outline on white cardstock, then apply the glue to the apple outline.

We found that focusing on a small section at a time worked best because the glue didn’t get smeared all over the cardstock. Plus, we didn’t have to rush to apply the tissue paper balls before the glue dried.

Tear the tissue paper into pieces and crumple each piece to form a circle.

Press the tissue paper balls onto the wet glue and continue to add more pieces to create a mosaic.

Allow it to dry completely and then your back to school artwork is ready to display!

Of course, you can leave the apple as is or cut it out and glue it to another piece of cardstock. This red apple would look nice adhered to a piece of black cardstock.

Another option is to frame your tissue paper apple craft.
A black, front-loading frame halfway open to reveal a piece of white cardstock with a tissue paper apple on it.

This is our favorite kid’s artwork frame because it’s front-opening, which allows us to quickly and easily change out the artwork. Another thing I love about this frame is that you can store old artwork right inside, behind the new artwork. So handy!

Of course, with the start of school fast approaching, your child could present this beautiful homemade mosaic apple to her teacher. Children have been giving apples to their teachers for years to show appreciation. I’m sure your child’s teacher would love to display this beautiful apple in her classroom!

So, what are you waiting for? Grab some tissue paper and get to making memories!
