Ingredients:
- Dosa Batter – 1 cup
- Jowar (soaked and rinsed) – 1 cup
- Onion – 1 medium, finely chopped
- Coriander – a bunch, finely chopped
Method:
1. Soak jowar for half an hour and rinse well in running water. Blend jowar in the grinding jar.
2. Mix the dosa batter and the jowar batter.
3. Add chopped onions and coriander.
4. Heat the appe or kuzhipaniyram mould.
5. Add a drop of oil in each cavity of the mould.
6. Once hot, pour a ladle of batter into each cavity, taking care that you fill only ¾ th of the cavity as the batter will rise a little.
7. Once you see small bubbles appearing on the surface, flip them over.
8. Cook till the other side becomes the same light golden brown color.
9. Unmould the balls and serve with a chutney of your choice.
