Costco Is Selling Mexican-Style Street Corn and I’m On My Way

By: Shannon Carino

Have you ever had elote? If not, you need to try it!

Elote is a Mexican street corn, grilled, then slathered with a cream based sauce, usually mayonnaise, sometimes sour cream based.  It’s topped with chili powder and lime juice, then sprinkled with cheese.

While traditional elote is served on the cob, Costco is coming to the rescue with their own Mexican-style street corn that you can grab in the freezer section to cook as a side with your favorite meal.  It may not be on the cob, but the flavors can’t be beat.

Tucked in the freezer section and made by The Tattooed Chef, a vegetarian company, this Mexican-style street corn contains four individual 14-ounce bags of pre-roasted corn already removed from the cob in a sauce made from sour cream, chili powder, and a dash of lime, with four cotija cheese packets as a topper.

It’s easy to prepare, with enough food to share, if you’re willing to.  But once you taste it, you may be hiding the rest in the back of your freezer to keep it to yourself.  For $10.99 for the four pack, it might be a good idea to stock up on more than one package.
