Deviled egg chicks are the perfect addition to a spring, and a great way to use those Easter eggs!

Use your favorite deviled egg recipe, and you know your little ones will gobble them up!

What You Need to Make Deviled Egg Chicks:
- Boiled eggs
- Mayonnaise, mustard, and other deviled egg fixings (I use just mustard/mayo).
- Baby carrots
- Black olives
- A sharp knife
- A butter knife
- A straw with a small opening
How to Make Deviled Egg Chicks:
- Boil your eggs in advance. Let them cool, preferably overnight, and then peel them carefully.
- Cut the eggs in half across the center, not long ways like typical deviled eggs.
- Scoop out the yolks, mash, and add your deviled egg ingredients.
- Carefully spoon the filling back into the egg white halves, and smooth it out with the flat side of a butter knife.
- Cut a baby carrot into rounds, then cut into a triangle for a beak. Press it onto the chick’s face.
- Cut a slice of black olive, then punch two small circles out of it using a straw. Press those into the chick face, as well.
- Repeat for as many deviled eggs as needed, chill, and serve!
How Do I Store Deviled Eggs?
After all that hard work, you will want to make sure that you store your deviled egg chicks properly. As soon as they are prepared, place them in the fridge, immediately, until it’s time to serve your guests.
How Long Will Deviled Eggs Last?
Two is the magic number to remember when it comes to deviled egg chicks (or any deviled eggs, for that matter). Once you serve your deviled egg chicks, keep an eye on the time. Eggs can remain unrefrigerated for up to two hours.
To be safe, pop them back in the fridge, accordingly.
If kept refrigerated, deviled eggs will last for up to two days, at the most.
How Can I Transport Deviled Eggs?
If you are taking your sweet little deviled egg chicks over the river and through the woods this Easter, you might be worried about them rolling around and getting messy during your travels. The good news is that you might already have containers that will help!
Use a silicon mini muffin pan to store your deviled egg chicks, and then you can continue to use it to bake yummy treats! A metal mini muffin pan will also work, I just prefer the silicon pans because it will be easier to slide the eggs out. There are also containers that are specially made to hold deviled eggs.
