Valentine’s Day Crafting: Start With A Valentine’s Day Tree!

I love creating paper snowflakes and paper hearts! This activity was initially created by Julia of Roots of Simplicity  for Kids Activities Blog a million years ago when it was known simply as Quirky Momma. It’s perfect for your preschooler, or kids of any age, and is a fun way to work on fine motor skills like cutting and folding paper.

Let’s start with making the paper hearts!

  • Fold paper in half and cut 1/2 a heart on the fold to create hearts.
  • Next, fold the heart several more times, and clip and snip corners and folds to create unique hearts.
  • Fasten the hearts to the branches you gathered and place them in your vase.

Isn’t this just a beautiful table-top decoration? A Valentine’s Day tree is a really cute centerpiece for your classroom or family Valentine’s Day celebration, and easy to make for kids of all ages!

Fasten any leftover hearts to tree branches in your yard!
