I love how the month of November helps us cultivate an attitude of gratitude in our kids, our families and ultimately our hearts.

Thanksgiving is my *favorite* holiday!!

Last year we made a Thanksgiving tree. We added leaves each day with things we are grateful for. We still have our leaves from last year. It’s fun to see the transformation of our priorities, as we compare what we are thankful for, from year to year.

This year my daughter wanted to make another gratitude craft!

Supplies needed to make your Thankful Turkey Can:

Instructions:

  1. First, glue the scraps of the paper bag to the sides of the can. Then, coat that with glue. When it dries, add the wings and embellishments.
  2. Paint the feet, tail feathers, and the beak orange.  Next, fold the beak, and glue half of the beak down so that your turkey has a mouth. Paint the wings brown.
  3. Glue googly eyes, and paint some eyebrows over them.

Fill your Thankful turkey can with pencils and pens.  Every day, sit down and journal – what things are you most thankful for?

Set aside some family time so that everyone can share what they are grateful for!
