If your child is celebrating a birthday today, this fun birthday party hat sandwich will make lunch extra special.
We adults don’t always enjoy getting older, but our kids can’t wait to tell everyone they are a year older. Birthdays are a bid deal when you’re little, so make your child’s big day really fun by making a simple yet festive lunch.
Birthday Party Hat Sandwich
You can even personalize the sandwich using alphabet stamps or a food coloring marker. Add your child’s name or their new age, or whatever will make them happy.
Birthday Party Hat Sandwich
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of bread (I used flat bread, but any bread will work fine)
- Lunch meat (turkey, ham, roast beef, bologna, etc. )
- Condiment (mayo, mustard, ketchup)
- Orange cheese slices
- White cheese slices
Supplies:
- Knife
- Pizza/pasta wheel
- Daisy cookie cutter (affiliate link)
- Alphabet stamps (you can purchase these in the clay section of the craft store)
- OR use a food coloring marker
Instructions:
Cut your bread slices into a birthday party hat shape.
Cut the lunch meat the same shape and size as the bread. Layer meat on one piece of bread and spread with your child’s favorite condiment. Top with the second piece of bread.
Cut the orange cheese slices into thin strips. Cut a piece of white cheese into a thicker curved strip, to fit along the curved part of the bread. Then cut a pom pom for the top of the hat out of white cheese too.
Use a bit of the condiment as “glue” and attach the strips of orange cheese across the hat creating stripes. Cut off excess cheese.
Personalize the white strip of cheese by pressing the alphabet stamps into the cheese or by writing with a food coloring marker.
Attach the hat brim and the pom pom to the sandwich.
Serve the sandwich or wrap it up and send it to school for lunch.
For added fun, cut some apple slices into birthday balloons!!
