Hats off to LEGO and just when I thought I couldn’t love the brand more, they go and do something to prove me wrong.
Recently, LEGO announced they are Building Braille Bricks For Visually Impaired Kids and my heart is so full!
LEGO posted on Twitter saying:
“We’re super excited to introduce LEGO Braille Bricks – a new product from @TheLegoFoundation that will help blind and visually impaired children learn Braille in a playful and inclusive way!”

The press release statement says:
“Motivated by stories and ideas from blind people around the world, the LEGO Foundation and LEGO Group will pilot a grassroots innovation that can help blind and visually impaired children learn through play using LEGO® bricks.” (Source)
The best part is, the LEGO Braille Bricks are going to be provided for free at learning organizations around the world.
Each set will come with about 250 blocks, in five bright, classic LEGO colors. The sets will also include a packet of ideas about how to play with the blocks and interactive games.
And yes, these will be compatible with traditional LEGO’s we know and love!
