In the last summer style post, Mara sang the praises of wearing all black all summer and I’m totally on board for a monochromatic wardrobe that is simple, easy, stylish. But, how about white?

My sister has a BFF who is very zen/yoga/clean and she wears only white, all white, all year round. She always looks ultra-chic, youthful and elegant. There’s nothing like an all-white outfit to give you a glow of positive energy and an extra bounce in your step.
We love this delicate, romantic linen Joie dress, with a flattering neckline, tie waist and flutter hem. This seems so pretty and appropriate for a date night.
MY LATEST VIDEOSFor another ultrafeminine look, this fitted handkerchief-hemmed Ted Baker dress definitely hits the mark. And another shout-out for this easy breezy Vince twist we’ve been talking about – there’s white and army green.
Mara’s the dress girl. I’m more into separates. On top, I’d go for this drapey white weave from Madewell. It’s slightly oversized and super comfortable.
On the bottom, I’d wear these white wash Rag & Bone wide leg flares with a little bit of stretch and a raw cut hem. These would look great with all kinds of summer sandals and in the fall with some fierce ankle booties. For a looser/boyfriend look, I like these J. Crew broken-in slim boyfriend jeans.
I also love the Eileen Fisher System scoop-necked tanks – both the short and longer versions (in white AND black). These are closet staples that can help make getting dressed so easy. If you’re feeling more vinyasa flowy – pair a white top with these Caslon linen track pants with a drawstring waist and split hem.
And for the A/C or in the evening – top it all off with a white linen Joie blazer!
The best part of putting together an all-white outfit is getting the right color pops from fantastic fun accessories. This flowered Coach bag makes me so happy – it’s covered with leather flower blooms and just makes me smile.
Contrast summer white with colorful shoes. I love the colors used in these Via Spiga slides, or choose from an array of cool colors with their Hana slides.
There’s nothing like a refreshing spritz to add to the summer feeling. This light and delicious Mario Badescu facial spray is made with aloe, herbs and rosewater.
With all that white, be sure to add a little kiss of sun on your face. I can’t figure it out – but NARS orgasm looks great on everyone – either in a pressed power, liquid blush or lip gloss. The other ubiquitous summer choice is black honey lips from Clinique – the super balm gloss is super moisturizing.
A final word on white – Mara and I have been hearing that the old school Tretorns are the new look – these classic canvas sneakers would go great with all the white outfits.
